Cheese Grater
The traditional four sided steel grater is probably the best invention known to humanity after beer and the printing press. Graters come with various shapes and sizes of grating blades so whether you want thin slices of veg, lemon zest or cheese gratings (is that really a word?) this is the tool for the job. Dishwasher safe too.
Colander
We use our colander pretty much daily. Whether it is for draining pasta or plasing washed sald leaves to dry a bit, the collander is the perfect tool.. Vegetables can be steamed right in the colander and clean up will be quick and easy. Another variety of colander, the mesh colander, will prevent smaller bits and pieces from getting through but does require a little more clean up.
Corkscrew
Wine bootles need opening. Simple corkscrews are good, but a well built 2 arm corkscrew is a thing of beauty.
Heatproof Spoons and Spatulas
Dishwasher safe spoons that don't scratch your bowls and pans and dont melt are a good thing to own. Silicone spatulas are excellent.
