kitchen lighting design
We use kitchens at all hours so they need to work for us in daylight and at night. Daylight is very important because it is free. Clever use of Windows, mirrors, suntubes and reflective surfaces can fully illuminate your kitchen at no cost.
However, when darkness falls we need kitchens to be equally useable and equally beautiful. This is where kitchen lighting design really comes into its own.

The lighting on the shelf in the pic above shows how a dark blue splashback wall can become a key kitchen design feature through clever use of downlighting.

These eye-level kitchen cupboards have a series of recessed small low wattage downlighter lamps embedded. This provides a clean wall of white light that accentuates the kitchen's monochrome design.
